HOMEBIRTH CARE
It is a delight to care for families in the peace of their home. Your prenatal care will be leisurely, regular visits lasting about an hour. We will meet at my Newport office. When you are in labor, I will come to you in active labor, monitoring your labor by paying attention to your vital signs, the baby’s heartbeat, and ensuring you feel supported and nourished throughout. After the birth, I stay to support you as you birth your placenta, initiate breastfeeding, take a shower, and eat a meal. After a full newborn exam, I leave at about 3-4 hours postpartum with you tucked into your own bed. There is no better moment! The first two weeks of postpartum care will be in your home, with us meeting back at my Newport office at 6 weeks.
All throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum I am 100% available to you through phone, text, and email. I am on call for you.

HOSPITAL BIRTH
I truly believe an empowered birth in the hospital is within your grasp. It takes commitment, education, and support. I believe women should birth where they feel safest. For many women-this is the hospital. Your support will include education from the Intentional Birth program, alongside three prenatal prep sessions- one in each trimester. When in labor, I will offer continuous in-person support, first in your home and then at the hospital. When desired, I will offer my midwifery insight to help you determine when to go to the hospital. Although timelines will vary, generally the expectation is that I will spend up to 24 hours with you throughout your birthing process and about two hours with you in the immediate postpartum. Connection for questions throughout the first 6 weeks postpartum offered, with one in-person postpartum meeting.
The fee for this service is $2500. From time to time, clients planning a hospital birth may find a desire to pivot to birth at home. Although this decision must be made no later than 36 weeks, in such cases I will apply the fee you have paid for doula services toward my homebirth global fee.
